Served in the best restaurants around the world

The versatility of prosecco is appreciated worldwide

A Prosecco DOC is never missing from the wine menus of Italy’s top restaurants, or even those around the world. Importantly, it is not only the wine connoisseur who appreciates a prosecco, but all those who love its extreme versatility. Indeed, its pleasant freshness and the floral aroma it emanates make it absolutely perfect both as an aperitif and for serving with delicate entrées, rice and pasta dishes, raw fish and fresh cheeses. And it is no coincidence that prosecco is now Italy’s most exported wine, long beating Champagne in terms of the number of bottles sold in the world.

The most exported wine in the world

Above all, it is restaurants in the United States that appreciate this sparkling white wine typical of the Veneto region. But both the Germans and, listen carefully, the French have also demonstrated their love for prosecco. Prosecco DOC is absolutely perfect for both informal dinners amongst friends and as the finishing touch to refined events and business dinners. The importance lies in always matching it with the right accompanying dish. It also loans itself particularly well for use in creative cocktails or elegant aperitifs, or matched with crunchy crudités, canapes or profiteroles, prawn cocktail or caviar, as it contributes to exalting the taste-olfactive particularities of such foods.

Not only an aperitif: the perfect accompaniment to fish

The matching of prosecco with fish is a true joy to the palate. In fact, it is far too banal to simply consider Prosecco DOC the king of aperitifs: this fantastic sparkling wine made in Italy is suited for a myriad of culinary solutions. In particular, all types of fish are well matched since there is no aquatic species that would not be enhanced through its accompaniment with Prosecco, starting with the sweeter possibilities such as molluscs and scallops, crustaceans, scampi and shrimp, and ending with filets of sea bass or bream.
